*At this time we refer our patients to local therapists outside of our practice
Psychotherapy is also popularly known as talk therapy. At Mindset Behavioral Clinic, we integrate therapy into our treatment plans because there is enough evidence supporting the benefits of therapy while utilized alongside other interventions such as medications in the treatment of most psychiatric disorders.
Some of the available psychotherapies that are often
recommended include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – focuses on exploring the relationships among a person’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Helping to convert negative thoughts into positive thoughts and behaviors. This is most effective in depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, eating disorders and schizophrenia
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – Mostly utilized in the treatment of borderline personality disorder
- Interpersonal Therapy – Focuses on the relationship one has with others and helps build healthy interaction skills with others
- Mentalization-Based Therapy- Helps develop a sense of self by focusing on one’s self thereby understanding one’s own emotion as it relates to others
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy – Focusing on understanding how current behavioral patterns are influenced by past experiences
